Clear, short work handover note

Summarise status, files and the open decision in one place so the recipient can understand the first action.
When to use it
Use when handing a task to a colleague or leaving a return-to-work note for yourself. You do not need to share confidential work files through this template.
Fill it in four steps
- Separate completed work from ongoing work and state what ready means here.
- Add a brief explanation alongside the file link. Do not include passwords or access keys.
- Identify the open decision’s owner if known; otherwise state that ownership needs clarification.
- Reduce the recipient’s first action to one sentence and add the review question.
Fill this template here
One draft is kept per template. Each of seven fields allows up to 2,000 characters. Personal text is not translated when changing language. Use Save; there is no autosave. Review marks describe only your own review.
Preview and download use the current form; Save is separate. Downloaded files may contain personal notes. Share buttons share only the public page link. Blank TXT/CSV and bundle ZIP files do not contain your draft.
Blank worksheet structure
These fields are for you to complete. Use the editor above or download the blank file for your own editor. No file upload is performed.

- Fictional work: sample user-guide draft.
- Completed: headings for the first three tasks.
- Open point: error-message wording has not been supplied.
- Decision owner: to clarify with the product-owner role.
- First action: ask for missing error text rather than guessing.
Ask yourself before finishing
- Are completed and open parts separate?
- Did I include an access key or unnecessary personal detail?
- Can the recipient understand the first action?
