Questions worth asking about an offer

Clarify the role, team and working arrangements alongside compensation. Worksheet scores reflect only your own assessment.
Ask what the role really means
What outcomes are expected early on, whom will you report to and how will success be assessed? Do not assume a title describes daily work. Record unclear answers and seek clarification before deciding.
Make working arrangements concrete
Discuss location, time zones, office expectations, travel and team communication. Ask for examples of what ‘flexible’ means. Do not assume working remotely from another country is permitted; verify with the employer and relevant authority.
Separate unresolved terms
Ask in writing about compensation components, start date, benefits and any relocation support. Do not expect legal or tax interpretation from a scoring tool. A high average should not hide an unresolved essential condition.
Turn reading into an output
- Write three open questions about the role, team and working setup.
- Set the importance of your own decision criteria.
